various bacon creations made with walter. the humble beginnings of a bacon cheese roll on the left, bacon covered turkey on the right.
bacon. it’s so obvious, but it has to be said. i love bacon. my inspiration for this post comes after making myself a delicious easter breakfast sammich* this
morning afternoon. nothing too fancy, just some cheese, two eggs over easy**, bread grilled-cheese style (that is, pan-fried. in irish butter no less!). ah, and three sticking-out-the-sides-of-my-sandwich-enormous slabs of thick cut, peppered bacon from the los gatos meat & smokehouse.***
bacon is irresistible. bacon brings vegetarians back to the light. it’s like avocado in that it makes everything better but unlike avocado, it can stand on its own. i’m an equal opportunity bacon lover. i like thin, chewy bacon or thick, crispy bacon. i like thin, crisp bacon or thick, chewy bacon. i like it from boutique smokehouses or from oscar meyers. and it’s so versatile! throw it in your burger, sandwich, mac n cheese, and even in your ice cream nowadays (others may gag, but i salute you, denny’s!).
seriously, who doesn’t like bacon? whoever says they don’t like bacon, i challenge you to a duel to the death!
*eat your heart out, sprog. this is a real heart attack sandwich! i have been drinking tea for the last 3 hours in an attempt to cut the grease
**fried in the bacon fat of course
